Preparing for exams involves the performing the chosen pieces, memorizing scales, sight reading and aural tests. But what I want to focus on here is the tools available from ABRSM that orientated to help preparing for their exams.
Speedshifter
Because Speedshifter varies the speed of the audio recording, any fluctuation of tempo is kept. This ensures that Speedshifter provides, in many cases, a more musical solution to slow practice than a metronome.
Scales Trainer
It has been designed to tackle the boredom and repetitiveness often associated with typical scales practice. Developed by ABRSM, this useful tool features a variety of fun musical challenges to help users learn scales and prepare effectively for our exams. Using unique and creative workouts, it helps build confidence playing scales and arpeggios from memory and improve overall technique.
